The year we need spring more than ever, it seems reluctant to come. It’s exceptionally cold and today, on the 15th of May, it snowed here in Turku.
Maybe it’s a good thing spring is taking it’s time though, since I know at least I need the reminder to take it slow. It’s hard to rest with the pandemic constantly at the back of my mind, and I’ve stubbornly tried to keep busy and productive even if it’s useless to try to push through this crisis.
That’s why I haven’t been making too many things this spring (ben focusing more on my photography). The budding leaves, the stubborn flowers and the glimpses of sunshine are doing there thing though and today I took my newest creations out for a walk to the trees that inspired them.
The delicate cherry blossoms seem more beautiful than ever and after having spend one early morning admiring and sketching them, I sat down to make a few pieces inspired by these stubborn flowers.
You can find the table runner, the bread basket and the napkins in my shop.
